Who is an ideal S.T.A.B.L.E. Lead Instructor candidate?
Someone with an interest in teaching who is also an expert in neonatal intensive care, such as a Neonatologist, neonatal nurse practitioner, pediatrician experienced in neonatal intensive care, neonatal physician assistant, neonatal transport nurse, NICU clinical nurse educator or specialist, neonatal transport respiratory therapist, respiratory therapist with a well-developed neonatal background, outreach educator with tertiary intensive care nursery background, experienced ICN nurse / nurse preceptor.
Instructor candidates must meet the qualifications for Lead or Support Instructor to attend. Please review the qualifications before registering.
The S.T.A.B.L.E. Program – Instructor Course
S.T.A.B.L.E. Foundations Prerequisite
All Instructor candidates must complete the S.T.A.B.L.E. Foundations Module available from our online partner, HealthStream. The cost of this module is not included in your Instructor registration. S.T.A.B.L.E. Foundations is a pre-requisite for all students who attend a 7th edition Learner course, so familiarity with the course is necessary for all S.T.A.B.L.E. Instructors
Two-day S.T.A.B.L.E. Instructor Course
Course fee: $495. What’s Included?
- Attendance of a 2-day S.T.A.B.L.E. Instructor course (dates below)
- S.T.A.B.L.E. Instructor manual and course packet.
- S.T.A.B.L.E. attaché bag to hold your supplies.
- Breakfast, lunch, and breaks on both course days.
- $25 discount on the optional Cardiac Module taught on day 3 (Salt Lake City courses only).
- 14.4 nursing education credits are awarded by S.T.A.B.L.E.
- Following completion, registered Instructors will have two-year access to the Instructor Portal to access the 7th edition program course slides, tests, and other Instructor resources.
The S.T.A.B.L.E. Cardiac Module – Day 3 (Salt Lake City courses only)
Open to all who wish to attend, whether attending the Instructor course or not. The program author, Dr. Kris Karlsen will teach the 2nd ed Cardiac Module. Please note, this is not a Cardiac Module instructor course but will familiarize you with the content.
Course fee: $200 (Cardiac Module only) $175 (if registered for the S.T.A.B.L.E. Instructor course) What’s Included?

Cancellation policy for all S.T.A.B.L.E. Courses:
There is no refund for S.T.A.B.L.E. Foundations.
Refunds will be made by check. For course registrations paid for by credit card, a $30 processing fee will be assessed.
- Cancellation 31 or more days before the course: 100% refund (less $30 credit card fee).
- Cancellation 15 to 30 days before the course: 50% refund (less $30 credit card fee).
- Cancellation 7 to 14 days before the course: 25% refund (less $30 credit card fee).
- Cancellation 0 (no show) to 6 days before the course: No refund.
