Description

Based on the original Siggaard-Andersen Acid-Base Alignment Nomogram, this tool helps with accurate interpretation of neonatal blood gas results in seconds. To interpret the blood gas, simply use a ruler to line up the bicarbonate, pH, and PCO2 blood gas values. Then, flip the card over and apply the rules on the backside to decide if the blood gas is normal, compensated or uncompensated. If the blood gas is abnormal, the next decision is whether the blood gas reflects a respiratory, metabolic, or both respiratory and metabolic problem. Accurate interpretation of an abnormal blood gas allows neonatal caregivers to confidently proceed with the correct therapy to correct the problem! Laminated so that it can be cleaned easily.

Package of 5 blood gas interpretation charts.
