Before teaching a S.T.A.B.L.E. Learner Course, remember to review the post-test questions that will be administered.  That way, you and your teaching team can be sure to cover the content that will be tested.

May 8, 2026 – Airway Module A, B, C, D Post-Tests and Pre-Tests B and C

1. Tests A, B, C, and D were updated to reflect, when blood gases are displayed, the use of the word: Base excess followed by a positive or negative number. This display matches how blood gases are reported. There is also an Asterix before the word “Base” with this information at the bottom of the page whenever there is a blood gas question:  Base is reported as base excess (BE); negative values = base deficit. The footer of the page has the change date so you know you are using the most current test. No answers were affected so the key was not replaced.

2. Pretests B and C were also updated because there were blood gases on those tests.

An updated PowerPoint presentation that reviews infant mortality in the U.S. has been added to the Resource Center. Dr. Karlsen often teaches this content in our Instructor courses. You are free to use any of these slides to augment your presentations and you may add or delete slides as desired. 

Dear S.T.A.B.L.E Instructors,

We would like to announce that the Orientation to Support Instructor process has been updated for the 7^th edition.

The basic process is similar to the 6^th edition, with some notable exceptions:    

• All Instructors teaching the course must have taught two 7^th edition Learner courses, prior to assisting with the Orientation process.
• The Lead instructor responsible for the course will be required to submit an electronic application PRIOR to the course.
• Support Instructor candidates must meet our Instructor qualifications and testing requirements.
• All Instructors and Support Instructor candidates must utilize a 7^th edition Instructor manual during the course.

If you want to train a S.T.A.B.L.E. Support Instructor be sure to review the Orientation to Support link in the Instructor portal, to ensure your candidate is accepted.
